We recently hosted Tara Tyrell, General Manager/Managing Editor of Destinations Magazine – “A Magazine for the Discerning Traveller – Australia’s Ultimate Luxury Guide to Travel”. The magazine covers leisure, accommodation, reviews, fashion and gourmet travel. Tara and others working on the magazine are given an assignment to explore various parts of Australia.

The magazine is a quarterly one and in the Summer 2013-2014 edition Tara covered the Mighty Murray, an area which I haven’t had the pleasure of doing as yet.

In preparation for the Autumn issue Tara leaves Brisbane on an 8 day trip covering NSW far north coast, but her first stop is Kirra. From here she travels to Cabarita, on to Nimbin, across to Byron Bay, up to Brunswick Heads. Tara then travels on the highway to Ballina and up to Pines on the Plateau Boutique Self Contained Lodges at Wollongbar which is 5 minutes from Alstonville for the evening. Back on to the highway and down to Yamba, back up to Lismore and travels back to Brisbane via Route 32.

For those wishing to see the NSW northern rivers, this itinerary is probably a good one to follow, however, there really is so much to see I’m sure that Tara wishes she had much more time in which to take in all of the attractions that the north coast of New South Wales offers.

To slow down the pace and to make it a much more relaxing holiday, why not base yourself at Pines on the Plateau Boutique Lodges and take day trips to the places that Tara has mentioned in her blog. Click here to read.
