Now that summer is officially over, Easter is just around the corner – how quickly time flies by when you are enjoying yourself on the beautiful north coast of New South Wales.

P1040163 - CopyAutumn is another magical time here and you are still able to enjoy the beaches if you are a water person or maybe you are a fishing person. When staying at Pines on the Plateau Boutique Lodges all of the popular beaches are within a 40 minute drive, Evans Head being the furthest away; Byron Bay, a 30 minute pleasant journey. Lennox Head and Ballina approximately a 20 minute drive.

There’s so much more to do though. In the Byron Bay hinterland why not experience one or more of the ancient rainforests so close to our self-contained accommodation. The tip of Mount Warning is visible from our accommodation and Victoria Park Nature Reserve is 7kms south of Alstonville. Enjoy a picnic or a barbeque and explore along the boardwalk and see the ancient Morton Bay Fig Trees. Or simply take a drive to visit the interesting little villages that this region boasts.

And of course the area has a plethora of wonderful eating places from fine dining, so many cafes with most serving coffee sourced locally and the ever popular ‘take-aways’. Why not buy some local seafood and relax on the north facing decks at Pines on the Plateau overlooking the lush green paddocks and the cattle grazing happily and simply chill out.
