The Festival is held in the heart of the Lismore CBD and spectators can view the parade from city streets and/or from Lismore’s major sporting oval, Oakes Oval.    Visitors come from near (Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay, Casino, Alstonville, Wollongbar and surrounding villages) as well as from much further afield to enjoy this wonderful entertainment.

In the weeks and months preceding the festival workshops are held in the art of Lantern construction.  Businesses take part in the action by decorating their windows in the lead-up to the festival and shoppers are asked to ‘vote’ for their favourite window.
