During past few days the weather has turned just a little cooler than what we have been experiencing  here in the  Ballina-Byron area.  No too cold for swimming, surfing and other water activities though.  But perhaps you would like a change of environment.  Why no visit some of our National Parks – so close to Pines on the Plateau Boutique Lodges. Victoria Park Nature Reserve (just 10 minutes away from our self contained accommodation at Wollongbar, very close to Alstonville) features one of the last remnants of “The Big Scrub”.  Approximately 150 tree species have been noted in this small reserve.  Picnic facilities are available and you are able to take a stroll along the boardwalk enjoying the variety of animals that call this reserve home.
