Pines on the Plateau Garden What does happen to the months? We are all so busy these days with our work, home, families and life in general that time simply flies by! On the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, autumn is here and the tibouchinas, particularly in the Alstonville and Wollongbar area where their vibrant purple colour is so synonymous, are making their usual spectacular display.

Thinking of a winter break?

Choose Pines on the Plateau Boutique Lodges as your self-contained accommodation base to discover the riches of this wonderful region. We are located centrally to all the places that visitors want to experience.

Food, Glorious Food!

Local Restaurants and ShoppingFunky cafes in the Ballina/Byron/Lennox Head and Lismore towns and our quirky villages and galleries all thrive here. Cafes and restaurants use local fresh products – many use organic produce. And with a selection of fabulous restaurants you will never go hungry.

Art, Culture, Entertainment

The business hub of the north coast, Lismore City, has a network of arcades and laneways exhibiting a diverse range of boutiques and shops. The larger than life, The Back Alley Gallery is a ‘must see’ for your activities.  The works are by talented local and international street artists. Lismore hosts NORPA which is one of the few theatre companies still creating and producing in regional Australia.  Visit the Lismore Museum and see our historic sites and buildings. Wend your way along scenic country lanes and along our scenic coastal roads.

Closest to our accommodation in Wollongbar (5 minutes from Alstonville) are the Farmers Markets every Saturday morning in Alstonville; the very interesting and eclectic Car Boot Market under Lismore Shopping Square conducted on the first and third Sunday of the month and the Plateau Market, Alstonville on the second Sunday of the month. Ballina hosts markets on the third Sunday of each month. There are many others as well to check out.
